At 2:30 p.m. Friday, a landslide was blocking both lanes of Hana Highway at mile marker 20, state transportation officials said.

This county-by-county list of reported weather impacts from former Hurricane Lane will be updated often:

HONOLULU

>> Crews of the Hawaii Department of Transportation responded to fallen trees on Ala Moana Boulevard, Likelike Highway, H-1 westbound at School Street, Kamehameha Highway at Ehukai Beach and Farrington Highway at Hakimo Road.

>> Crews responded to a utility pole fire near Ulehawa Beach Park in Nanakuli.

>> Oahu motorists are reminded of the ongoing closure of the Kailua-bound lanes on the Pali Highway. The left lanes in both directions of the H-3 freeway at the Harano Tunnels also remain closed for equipment staging.

>> As of 11:30 a.m., the Hawaiian Electric Co. reported about 2,500 customers on Oahu without power due to intensified winds this morning. Approximately 1,350 customers are without power in the Nanakuli area, and 1,000 in the Kalihi-Liliha area. Smaller outages are affecting another 150 customers. Early this morning, about 280 customers were without power on Oahu. Hawaii Electric crews responded to seven major outages overnight, “most of them cause by tree branches blown onto power lines,” HECO said on Twitter.

>> Likelike: Honolulu side of the Wilson Tunnel, all Kaneohe-bound lanes were closed early Friday due to a down tree as winds pick up in advance of Hurricane Lane. They were re-opened at about 6 a.m.

HAWAII ISLAND

>> Both lanes of Highway 11 are closed between the 58 and 62 mile markers in Kau due to flooding in the Kawa area.

>> Highway 130 from Keaau High School to Hawaiian Paradise Park was closed due to flooding.

>> North and South Kulani Road to Peck Road, Highway 11 mile marker 15 was closed as of 6:15 p.m. due to heavy water run off and ponding.

>> Hawaii County police said aafter 5 p.m. Friday: “Heavy rains are causing extreme and fast moving runoff on several streets and highways in the South Hilo District. As a result of the weather, there is minimal visibility on all roadways. Please stay off the roadways until conditions improve.”

>> The Department of Environmental Management reports that there are three ongoing wastewater spills from pump stations along the Hilo shoreline. These spills are caused by abnormally high flows due to the heavy rainfall. The wastewater is being discharged on both the ground and at the shoreline.

>> Route 19 Hamakua: 2 lane road closures at mile marker 14; mile marker 18, and all gulches open in both directions.

>> Both lanes of Highway 19 at the 6 mile marker were reopened about 12:30 p.m. Friday. But police say that there is heavy runoff and ponding in the area. Also, Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) is now open but some windblown debris remains on the road.

>> The state Department of Transportation advised motorists to avoid Route 19 in Hamakua due to multiple road closures at mile marker 14, mile marker 18, Maulua Gulch and Kaawalii Gulch. Spokesman Tim Sakahara said crews are responding to a landslide on Highway 19 in the Puueo area caused by heavy rain. The deluge is also causing large potholes on the highway at mile marker 11.

>> Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) is closed at Halawa Gulch (25.5 mile post) due to a landslide and downed tree.

>> About 1,355 customers in Haleaha remain without power Friday morning.

>> Saddle Road is partially opened at 6:15 a.m. between the 8 and 12 mile markers. Traffic is alternating one lane, following a pilot car.

>> Just before 6 a.m. Friday, Hawaii County officials said that due to the flash flooding, the following major roads are closed: Highway 19 – both lanes are closed at mile marker 6; Saddle Road – between mile marker 8 and 11; Highway 270 (Kohala Mountain Road) – mile marker 13; Numerous secondary roads in Hilo, Puna, and Hamakua are closed so stay alert. Multiple other landslides are occurring on Highway 19 and other closures can occur without notice. At this time, Highway 11 is the only way to travel across the island. Also, avoid Highway 19 between Waianuenue Avenue and the Wainaku Center for the next hour due to debris in the roadway.

>> Avoid Highway 19/6 mile marker (Puueo-paku) for the next 2 hours due to a landslide before 5:30 a.m.. No alternate route at this time.

>> Residents of Reeds Island on Kaiulani Street evacuated their homes because of flooding.

>> Avoid Saddle Road in the area of the 10.5 mile marker above Hilo due to a landslide and large rocks on the road early this morning.

>> Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) closed last Thursday from Puu Mamo Dr in Kohala to Hawaii Prep Academy in Waimea due to fallen trees.

>> Flash flooding reported 5 miles southwest of Hilo at 3:15 p.m. Thursday

>> A water rescue was reported near Kaiulani Street in Hilo where water levels running at 5 feet. at 3:10 p.m.

>> Flash flooding was occurring 4 miles northeast of Naalehu at 12:26 p.m.

>> Kaalaiki Road in Kau has been closed

>> The state Department of Health is warning the public stay out of Kaohaoha Gulch, northwest of Hilo, and the coastal waters fronting the gulch in Ookala. Water within Kaohaoha Gulch was contaminated with animal waste due to an overflowing retention pond at the Dairy facility. The overflows are caused by rainfall from Hurricane Lane.

>> Hawaii County officials ask the public: Due to the extreme hazards created from the heavy rain, stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

>> At 11 a.m., officials said the windward side of Hawaii Island is currently under a flash flood warning and experiencing hurricane conditions of heavy rains and flooding.

>> Avoid Kaalaiki Road in Kau, just mauka of Naalehu Town, road closed due to flooding.

>> Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) remained closed at 9 a.m. near the 24-mile marker in North Kohala due to a landslide. The estimated duration of the closure is not known.

>> A Brown Water Advisory has been issued for the Big Island. Hurricane Lane has resulted in stormwater runoff entering into coastal waters. If the water is brown stay out.

>> Highway 19 at mile 13 was closed both lanes due to a landslide near Honomu at about 4 a.m. Department of Transportation estimates 2 hours for clearing to reopen. There are no detours in this area.

>> Bayfront Highway in Hilo closed Wednesday night due to flooding.

MAUI COUNTY

>> The waterline for Puu Way and Waha Place in Haiku was washed out and customers on those streets are without water as of late Friday.

>> Maui County officials urged West Maui residents and businesses to conserve water through Saturday) The Department of Water Supply is unable to operate its pumps due to the power outage, and the surface water treatment facilities cannot process the muddy water inflow. Customers should use water for health and safety purposes only until Sunday.

>> At 2:30 p.m, landslide blocking both lanes of Hana Highway at mile marker 20.

>> Crews cleared fallen trees and branches on Honoapiilani Highway, Kula Highway, Kekaulike Avenue and Crater Road.

>> Motorists are advised to steer clear of the Hana Highway as a precautionary measure, according to state DOT spokesman Tim Sakahara.

>> Maui Electric crews have been redeployed this morning and are addressing the issue to bring customers safely back online as quickly as possible. Currently, there are about 4,000 customers in the West Maui area without power. On Molokai, about 2,600 customer are experiencing a power outage. Cause of the outages is being assessed.

>> Twenty-six occupants of the emergency shelter at Lahaina Intermediate School to Lahaina Civic Center were evacuated due to a brush fire early today. Honapiilani Highway is now closed in both directions due to the large brushfire.

>> Due to high winds and falling trees that are currently posing dangerous working conditions, Maui Electric crews are halted work as of early Friday. Crews will be redeployed to assess any outages and make repairs tomorrow morning as conditions improve and are deemed safe

>> Maui Electric crews are responding to an outage affecting about 1,990 customers in parts of Upcountry Maui, including Kula, Olinda, Piiholo and Makawao. The customers lost power around 3 p.m. Thursday after a tree came down on power lines. At around 3:20 p.m. about 1,250 customers in parts of Lahaina, including Olowalu and Launiupoko, experienced a power outage after a tree branch came down on lines. All customers were restored by 4:25 p.m. A majority of the Upcountry customers were restored by 6:08 p.m. with the remaining customers brought back online by 7:56 p.m. after crews made repairs to the lines.

>> Kahului Airport is experiencing a power outage, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in a tweet Thursday afternoon. Backup systems have been activated, but there may be brief delays as computer systems reboot. Operations will be available on backup power. Also parts of Upcountry Maui are experiencing outages.

>> Flooding in Hana has closed Wainapanapa, Ulaino and Waikoloa roads. Motorists are advised to limit travel at this time, especially to remote areas, including Hana.

>> County officials advise residents and tourists not to travel Hana Highway for safety reasons.

KAUAI COUNTY

>> The Hawaii Department of Transportation will run vehicle convoys to provide limited access to local traffic on Kuhio Highway between Waikoko and Wainiha until 6 p.m. today after crews inspected the roadway and consulted with the Kauai Emergency Management Agency. The vehicle convoys will continue, weather conditions permitting.

>> No major weather impacts have been reported by midday on Kauai, but the county’s Department of Water has shut water service shutdown for customers along a portion of Kuhio Highway in Haena, from Manoa Stream to Ke’e Beach, including all connecting roads at about 9 a.m. Thursday. Water service is being turned off in the selected area to prevent possible damage to the system in preparation for the expected severe weather conditions. “All residents should prepare for possible water service disruption and have their recommended drinking water supply storage of 1 gallon, per person, per day for a least 14 days. For additional water emergency preparedness guidelines, please visit www.kauaiwater.org.
