The Go Nuts baseball team lost to Atlantic Shore, N.J., 7-6 in the championship game of the 14u Babe Ruth World Series on Thursday in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Jacob Villacorte batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Peyton Hino went 2-for-4 with a double for Go Nuts, which finished 5-1 in the tournament.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Go Nuts had two runners on base, but a flyout to center field ended it.
Go Nuts outfielder Jacob Villacorte, shortstop Kaden Stremick, second baseman Reece Carganilla, first baseman Jameson Hussey and catcher Kamaehu Sanchez were named to the All-World Series team. Go Nuts also won the sportsmanship award.
