A 23-year-old man late Thursday sustained critical injuries when he crashed his motorcycle in Waianae.
Police said the man was traveling west on Lualualei Homestead Road at about 11:15 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a light pole.
Emergency Medical Services treated and transported the motorcyclist in critical condition to a hospital. Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Further details were not available.
CrimeStoppers seeks tips on ATM robbery
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the man who robbed an ATM user in the Keeaumoku area July 19.
The robbery occurred around 4:15 a.m. when a male with a large handgun, possibly a .44-magnum revolver, approached the victim as he was withdrawing cash from the ATM. The two struggled, and the victim ran to a nearby gas station, where he was assisted by an off-duty police officer. The suspect ran, jumped on an awaiting moped and sped off.
The suspect was described as a Micronesian male in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with short black hair, wearing a black T-shirt with a picture of a woman in a bikini, black shorts and slippers.
