‘Police action’ forces closure of Highway 11 on Big Isle
Police have reopened Highway 11 between Ala Loop and Kulani Road on Hawaii island after investigating the scene of a fatal shooting of a fellow police officer.
A bulletin asking people to avoid the area was sent out shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday. Highway 11 was originally expected to reopen at 8 a.m., but reopened around 12:30 p.m.
The shooting suspect remains at large.
