A man who was found dead Tuesday in an apparent hit-and-run in Kunia has been identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office as Meechok Chanphut, 49, of Kunia.
Paramedics found Chanphut on Kunia Road near Royal Kunia at 12:26 a.m. and declared him dead. An Emergency Medical Services report said Chanphut “may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.”
The northbound lanes of Kunia Road at Plantation Road were closed as police investigated the scene, but they have since been reopened.
Pair wanted for robbery, kidnapping
Police are looking for a man and woman who robbed and kidnapped a 57-year-old man in Kaneohe.
Police said the pair robbed and kidnapped him at gunpoint at 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspects fled prior to police arriving. Their identities and whereabouts are unknown, police said.
The case is classified as a first-degree robbery.
Woman found off Barbers Point dies
A 66-year-old woman died Monday after she was found unresponsive in the ocean off of Barbers Point.
Paramedics transported the woman at 9:49 a.m. Monday to a nearby medical facility, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
There were no signs of foul play.
