“If we have a broader range of points of view, a broader range of perspectives and experiences represented on the bench, it will help us understand the community, help us understand the challenges that folks are facing when they come to court,” said Mark Recktenwald, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Hawaii, on having a diverse bench — not just in gender but by ethnicity and other attributes.
