The workers will assist with clean-up efforts in the flood-impacted areas of Kauai and Oahu.
“This funding is much needed,” said Schatz in a news release. “It will speed up recovery efforts, and also allow for hundreds of people to be paid to help rebuild and recover.”
On Wednesday, President Donald J. Trump approved the state’s request for individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Kauai and Oahu residents whose homes have been lost or damaged due to historic flooding.
