Walmart is hosting a celebration at 7:45 a.m. today to recognize the grand opening of the Hawaii Walmart Academy and the program’s inaugural graduating class.
The Mililani Walmart at 95-550 Lanikuhana Ave. will be the first Hawaii Walmart Academy and one of 200 training academies slated to open across the country. The academy will serve all 10 Hawaii stores. Walmart will make grants to five Mililani area schools.
Walmart’s training academies are dedicated facilities where the company’s front-line supervisors receive hands-on training that combines the classroom and the sales floor.
