Two men were arrested in an attempted murder investigation Saturday night after a brawl in Tantalus, police said.
Two parties were fighting when the men with dangerous instruments assaulted five victims, possibly with knives and bats, at about 8:30 p.m., authorities said.
Three ambulance units responded to the intersection near Papakolea Community Park, and paramedics transported two men, ages 43 and 18, two 17-year-old boys and a 17-year-old girl in serious condition to a hospital, the report said. The two men and one of the boys may have been stabbed, the report said, while the other boy and the the girl may have been injured by a bat.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault and arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Cause of house fire is under investigation
Honolulu firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that burned an abandoned one-story single-family home Saturday night in Kalihi.
Squatters had been in the structure but left before the fire started, Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Scot Seguirant said.
About 40 firefighters responded at around 9:35 p.m. to the blaze at 2008 Wilcox St.; they extinguished the fire shortly before 11 p.m., Seguirant said. An estimated cost of damage was not immediately available.
