Honolulu police are searching for as many as three males in an attempted murder investigation after a male customer was shot in the abdomen as he confronted suspects robbing a vape shop in Aiea.

Aloha E-Liquids put out a statement on social media today thanking the community for its prayers and support and posting a fuzzy image of two of the three main suspects in Monday night’s robbery.

Police said the adult suspects entered the shop located at Harbor Center, 98-029 Hekaha St., at about 7:50 p.m. Monday. The suspects allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money.

Police said money was taken out of the cash register. At some point there was a struggle between the suspects and the customer who confronted them. Police said the money dropped and the patron was shot in his abdomen.

The suspects fled the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.

Police said the assailants and the victim are strangers.

The victim was transported to a trauma center in serious but stable condition.

The vape shop was close today but expected to reopen Wednesday.

In its post on Instagram and Facebook, the company asked that anyone with information that may lead to an arrest to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300.
