Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki to close Friday and Sunday evening

Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki will be closed on Friday and Sunday evenings for the 29th Annual Pan-Pacific Festival, according to festival organizers.

Road closures are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to midnight Friday on Kalakaua Avenue from Seaside to Uluniu avenues, and from Monsarrat to Kapahulu and Paki avenues. The closures are for the festival’s Hoolaulea, which takes place from 7 to 10 p.m.

Road closures are also scheduled from 4:15 to 7 p.m. Sunday on Kalakaua Avenue from Saratoga Road to Kapahulu Avenue for the parade, which begins at 5 p.m.

Motorists should expect travel delays into Waikiki during the Pan Pacific Festival’s Hoolaulea and parade, and are advised to use alternate routes.

Roads will reopen at the discretion of the Honolulu Police Department.

More information on the three-day festival is available at pan-pacific-festival.com.
