Honolulu police say the two motorcyclists who died Sunday in separate crashes were speeding and not wearing helmets.
They said a 55-year-old man was speeding south on Mokulele Drive when he crossed the northbound lanes and crashed into two parked cars. He died at Castle Medical Center.
A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after he lost control of his motorcycle on Kapolei Parkway and struck a curb and a light pole.
The two men were the 21st and 22nd traffic fatalities on Oahu this year versus 17 at this time last year.
