Mokulele Airlines will be moving to a new location at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport beginning Tuesday, state officials said.
It will move from its Commuter Terminal on the Ewa side to Terminal 3 on the Diamond Head side of the airport, which is accessible via Aolele Street, with the entrance between the Delta Cargo and United Cargo facilities.
In addition to a customer service and check-in counter, Terminal 3 also will be home to Mokulele offices, restrooms and a hold room. Public parking, with 42 standard stalls and two Americans With Disabilities Act stalls, will be available. The public will be required to prepay parking fees before checking in for flights.
The state Department of Transportation will provide free Wiki Wiki shuttle service from Terminal 3 to Terminals 1 and 2 for Mokulele Airlines passengers with a connecting flight on another airline, looping around approximately every 20 minutes.
“Mokulele is very grateful to the Hawaii Department of Transportation for working to find a solution for us to remain on the air carrier side of the airport so that our passengers can easily connect to our interline partners for travel overseas,” said Mokulele Airlines President Rob McKinney in a news release. “We believe that this facility will provide an even higher level of service to our loyal passengers.”
The Commuter Terminal will be razed to build the new Mauka Concourse extension as part of the airport modernization plan. Construction begins June 1, resulting in the closure of the circulation roads to parking lot B, the current Commuter Terminal and Interisland Terminal Mauka Group Tour areas.
Mokulele Airlines passengers are advised to give themselves extra time during the transition as well as to be aware of limited parking over Memorial Day weekend due to the closure of parking lot B. Passengers must remove vehicles from parking lot B before June 1. If vehicles are not removed, they risk being towed at owners’ expense.
The address for Terminal 3 is 3073 Aolele St. Passengers with operational questions can call 495-4188 or 866-260-7070, or visit the Mokulele Airlines website.
