Fire crews battling brush fire in gulch near Dole Plantation
Honolulu Fire Department crews are fighting a brush fire this morning in a remote gulch near Dole Plantation in Wahiawa.
Fire Capt. Scot Seguirant said five units, including three engines and a tanker, are on the scene, and more crews are on the way.
Seguirant said firefighters initially struggled with access issues and were trying to figure out the best way to access the flames.
The fire was reported at 9:52 a.m. with the first units arriving five minutes later. He added that it’s uncertain how many acres have been blackened.
