A 41-year-old man was shot to death Sunday after attempting to enter a home in Ewa Beach, police said.
Police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the shooting. He was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder. Police said the victim tried to open the front door of the suspect’s home when the suspect shot him. Police said the incident occurred between 3:15 and 3:51 a.m.
An Emergency Medical Services crew responded to 91-1050 Kaileolea Drive at about 3:55 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound, an EMS report said. He died at the scene, the report said.
Police said the suspect and victim do not know each other. They did not say why the victim was trying to enter the home.
Motorcyclist in Friday Waimanalo crash dies
A motorcycle rider who was injured Friday in a collision with a vehicle in Waimanalo has died.
Honolulu police said the 28-year-old man died Saturday. His death is the 17 traffic fatality on Oahu this year versus 12 at this time last year.
The collision happened at the intersection of Mahailua and Kumuhau streets. The city ambulance crew that transported the man in critical condition to an area hospital said he was not wearing a helmet.
