Hawaiian and Japan airlines began sales Thursday of their codeshare flights for travel starting Sunday.
Passengers traveling between Japan and Hawaii will be able to travel more conveniently to more cities throughout Japan and Asia using JAL’s network of over 30 domestic cities and 11 international destinations and Hawaiian’s interisland flights.
Phase one of the comprehensive partnership includes:
>> Access to 36 domestic and 11 international destinations (subject to government approval) within JAL’s network, as well as all Japan-Hawaii flights.
>> Access to Hawaiian’s neighbor island network of approximately 170 daily flights.
>> Hawaiian’s inclusion into JAL’s JALPAK offers guests more options on tour packages between Japan and Hawaii beginning April 2.
>> Ability to earn HawaiianMiles and JAL Mileage Bank credit on codeshare flights, including nonstop flights between Honolulu and Nagoya and Sapporo.
>> Reciprocal lounge benefits.
>> Convenient connections and an improved guest experience following Hawaiian’s relocation to Terminal 2, adjacent to JAL, at Tokyo Narita Airport beginning Sunday.
Craigslist closes personals sections in U.S.
SAN FRANCISCO >> Americans looking for love or companionship on Craigslist can’t make a connection.
The classified ads site Friday took its personals section offline in the United States.
The action comes after the U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed an anti-sex-trafficking bill that could hold the website and others responsible for illegal activity if it becomes law. The company says the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act seeks to subject websites to criminal and civil liability.
A message on the site says any tool or service can be misused, and the company hopes it can bring them back “some day.” Craigslist closed by saying, “To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!”
Dropbox shares jump 36% in IPO
Dropbox, the file-sharing company and Silicon Valley darling, had a strong market debut Friday, a reassuring sign for the technology industry and for the investors who have billions locked up in other highly valued but privately held startups.
Shares of San Francisco-based Dropbox, which had sold 36 million shares at $21 each Thursday night, rose 36 percent in the first day of trading. That pushed Dropbox’s market value to $11.2 billion, above where it had been valued in the private markets. The stock closed up $7.48 at $28.48.
