Neighborhood water main break closes Kalihi Elementary School
Kalihi Elementary School will be closed today due to a water main break in Kalihi Valley, according to the Hawaii Department of Education.
Crews of the Board of Water Supply responded to an 8-inch water main break at the intersection of Kalihi Street and Manaiki Place shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Special duty officers are contraflowing traffic in the affected area as crews conduct repairs. Spokeswoman Kathleen Pahinui said repairs are expected to continue throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Board of Water Supply is providing water wagons to 63 affected customers on Nalanieha Street, Kula Kolea Street, Kula Kolea Place and Naai Street.
