Warning signs posted after 8-foot shark spotted off Waimea Bay
Shark warning signs were posted at Waimea Bay this morning after an 8-foot shark was spotted by Ocean Safety lifeguards.
The shark was spotted about 50 yards from the shore at 9:15 a.m. and exhibited non-aggressive behavior, officials said.
The public was warned of the shark sighting by Jet Ski patrols and megaphone announcements from the lifeguard tower.
