Baseball ‘Bows beat Air Force in opener, second game canceled
Adam Fogel belted the go-ahead solo home run and Neil Uskali and Dylan Thomas combined on a four-hitter over seven innings to lead the University of Hawaii baseball team to a 2-1 victory over Air Force today at Les Murakami Stadium.
The game was arranged for seven innings as part of scheduled doubleheader.
But the second game was canceled because of heavy rain and lightning following a delay of 1 hour, 20 minutes.
In sweeping the series, the ’Bows opened the season at 3-0 for the first time since 2006.
The score was tied at 1 when Fogel powered over the wall in left-center. Fogel went 6-for-11 in this series.
The ’Bows open a four-game series against Brigham Young on Thursday at Les Murakami Stadium.
