A 38-year-old man is scheduled to appear at Honolulu District Court Friday on abuse charges involving a 41-year-old woman in Wahiawa.

Ueta Lauimalae, also known as Veta Lauimale, was charged Tuesday with three counts of felony abuse of a family or household member and one count of first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail is set at $500,000.

At about 2 p.m. Monday, police said a suspect later identified as Lauimalae physically abused and threatened the victim with an unspecified dangerous instrument.

Police were called and he was arrested shortly after. Checks into his criminal record revealed he is a repeat offender of abuse.

Lauimalae has a criminal record of misdemeanor abuse of a family or household member, harassment and terroristic threatening.
