Missing OCCC work furlough inmate arrested

COURTESY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY

Bryce Takara

Sheriffs arrested missing work furlough inmate Bryce Takara at about 9 a.m. today after convincing him to voluntarily turn himself in.

Takara was transported to the sheriff booking station for processing, and will be returned to the Oahu Community Correctional Center on a new Escape 2 charge.

On Feb. 8, the Department of Public Safety said Takara failed to return to Module 20 after work. He is serving time for burglary and kidnapping, and his next parole hearing is scheduled for April.
