Big Island soccer powerhouses will meet for the Division II title in girls state soccer today.
Hawaii Prep Ka Makani, winner of the past four D-II HHSAA state titles, will take on Kamehameha-Hawaii, which advanced to its second title game in three years.
Emi Higgins scored twice to lead Ka Makani past second-seeded Kapaa 3-0 in one semifinal match played at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.
Teah Van Bergen also scored for HPA (14-2), which advanced to its sixth consecutive D-II HHSAA title game. HPA has won 14 consecutive state-tournament matches.
In the other semifinal played at Waipahu, the Warriors silenced Kauai 2-0. The match was moved to the later time at Waipahu when a van carrying the Kauai team was involved in a traffic accident.
Hevanilea Haunga and Faith Aurello each scored to lift the top-seeded Warriors (12-4).
Kamehameha-Hawaii last played in a state final in 2016, where it lost to HPA 1-0.
Hawaii Prep and Kamehameha-Hawaii will play at 5 p.m. today in the Waipio main stadium.
Kapaa (11-2-1) will take on Kauai (11-3-1) for third place at 3 p.m. today at Waipio’s field No. 6.
