Austin Pope finished with 15 points and seven rebounds as the Chaminade men’s basketball team defeated Fresno Pacific 70-56 on Saturday at McCabe Gym.
Justin Bridges and Grant Dressler each added 12 points and Erik Scheive had 10 for the Silverswords (14-7, 9-5 PacWest). The Sunbirds fell to 5-19, 3-13.

Sharks women extend streak to 14 games
Samantha Lambrigtsen had 17 points and eight rebounds as the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to 14 games with a 76-73 victory over Dixie State on Saturday at Moanalua High School.
Jessi Reeves added 13 points and Alysha Marcucci had 10 for the Sharks (18-2, 12-1 PacWest). The Trailblazers dropped to 10-12, 6-9.

UH water polo wins 2 matches
The No. 6 University of Hawaii water polo beat No. 5 Arizona State and No. 16 UC San Diego at the ASU Cross Conference Challenge on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.
Elyse Lemay-Lavoie scored four goals and Femke Aan and Irene Gonzalez each added two in the Rainbow Wahine’s 10-9 victory over the Sun Devils (4-1).
Lemay-Lavoie scored three goals and Gonzalez added a pair in Hawaii’s 7-4 win over the UCSD Tritons.
The Rainbow Wahine improved to 5-1.
UH Hilo softball wins pair in Las Vegas
The Hawaii Hilo softball team beat Eastern New Mexico and Concordia (Ore.) at the Desert Stinger on Saturday in Las Vegas.
In the first game, Isabelle Mejia hit a three-run homer and Mari Kawano batted 4-for-4 in the Vulcans’ 6-5 win over the Greyhounds (0-3).
In the second game, the Vulcans scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning in an 11-6 triumph over the Cavaliers (2-2). Hilo scored three in the seventh to tie it at 6-6.
Bailey Gaspar, Mejia and Skylar Thomas each drove in two runs for the Vulcans, who improved to 3-0.
Lau, McGill win heats at Volcom Pipe Pro
Hawaii’s Ezekiel Lau and Finn McGill won their fourth-round heats at the Volcom Pipe Pro on Saturday on the North Shore.
Lau had a two-wave total of 9.40 to win his four-man heat, while McGill scored a 7.27 to claim his heat.
Twelve surfers from Hawaii will surf in the quarterfinals.
Oklahoma State wins Amer Ari Invitational
Oklahoma State finished at 47-under-par 817 to win the Amer Ari Invitational men’s golf tournament Saturday at Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
Southern Cal’s Justin Suh won medalist honors at 203. Oklahoma State’s Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff both finished one stroke back.
Texas Tech was second at 834 and Southern Cal third at 837. Hawaii Hilo finished 17th at 907 and Hawaii was 18th and last at 921.
Wade, Trapasso at Honolulu QB Club
University of Hawaii men’s volleyball coach Charlie Wade and baseball coach Mike Trapasso will be the featured speakers at the Honolulu Quarterback Club on Monday at Maple Garden Restaurant.
Wade is in his eighth season as coach of the Rainbow Warrior volleyball team, ranked No. 3 in the nation.
Trapasso has been at the helm of UH baseball team since 2002. The Rainbows open the season Feb. 16.
The lunch, which costs $16, starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. The public is invited.
