Man arrested for alleged Waikiki robbery
Police arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly robbed and kidnapped a 44-year-old acquaintance late Tuesday night in Waikiki.
Police said the younger man got upset with the older man, assaulted him and took his money. He then told the 44-year-old to get into his vehicle, and assaulted him again.
The victim managed to flee from the vehicle and flag down a police officer.
The whole ordeal lasted about two hours from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 12:09 a.m. Wednesday.
Police arrested the younger man on suspicion of second-degree robbery and kidnapping.
The suspect was not charged because the victim declined to prosecute, police said.
