Niksha Federico finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Lorenzo Gordon-Haynes added 13 points for the Sharks (10-8, 5-5 PacWest).
The Eagles (6-12, 0-10) missed a 3-pointer as time expired.

HPU women knock off Biola
Samantha Lambrigtsen scored 21 points and Alysha Marcucci and Jessi Reeves each added 14 as the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team beat Biola 69-61 on Saturday in La Mirada, Calif.
The Sharks (15-2, 9-1 PacWest) outscored the Eagles 37-24 in the second half.
DeMoria White scored 24 points for the Eagles (7-9, 4-6).

UH water polo splits opening day
The sixth-ranked University of Hawaii water polo team opened the season by splitting matches with No. 4 California and No. 22 Loyola Marymount in the Rainbow Invite on Saturday at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
California’s Anna Illes and Emma Wright scored three goals each to lead the Golden Bears to a 9-4 win over UH. Maartje Keuning scored two goals for UH and Claire Nixon and Femke Aan added one each. UH goalie Ymane Hage had eight saves and five steals.
UH returned to the pool against LMU and junior Irene Gonzalez and freshman Carmen Baringo scored three goals each to power the Rainbow Wahine to a 13-6 win. Nixon added two goals and eight UH players scored, including redshirt freshman Lalelei Mata’afa, who fired in her first career goal from near mid-pool late in the second period.
The Rainbow Wahine face No. 23 Marist today at 10:15 a.m. to close the tournament.
UH diving coaches at QB Club
Mike Brown, the University of Hawaii diving coach, and Anita Rossing, his wife and assistant diving coach, will be the featured speakers at the Honolulu Quarterback Club on Monday at Maple Garden Restaurant.
Brown and Rossing are entering their 18th year at UH.
The lunch, which costs $16, starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. The public is invited.
