Defending champion Justin Thomas was not spectacular like last year when he shot a 59 in the first round and cruised to victory. But he was steady, and his 67-67-66-68 left him 12 under par and tied for 14th when it was all over Sunday.
Others who won here previously and made the cut fared similarly, including Zach Johnson and Jerry Kelly. They were also among the golfers at T14.
Johnson (2009 winner) was coming off the flu but managed to shoot three rounds in the 60s, including Sunday’s 67. He birdied three of the last four holes.
Kelly (2002) shot under par in all four rounds with a 66 on Sunday.
Ryan Palmer (2010) rallied to card 1 under despite a triple bogey on No. 16, his seventh hole of the day. He finished T58 at 5 under for the event.
Perennial Sony Open contender Charles Howell III was also under par all four days.
His 67 on Sunday left him tied for 32nd at 9 under.
