Police are looking for a robbery suspect who threatened a tourist couple from South Korea with a handgun in Hawaii Kai.
Police said the couple saw the suspect stealing property from their rental vehicle at the Sandy Beach parking lot at about 3 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect pulled out a handgun and threatened the couple, a 30-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, before fleeing in a vehicle, police said.
After the couple followed the suspect while calling police, he allegedly exited his vehicle and threatened them again with the the gun before fleeing.
Police opened a robbery investigation.
Suspect in Aiea robbery still on the loose
Police are looking for a suspect in a drive-up robbery Friday night in Aiea.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, told police he was walking on the street at about 7:45 p.m. when a car stopped and the passenger got out while brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. The male suspect demanded the victim’s property and fled with his cash.
Police opened a first-degree robbery investigation.
