Wanted murder suspect attacked Mililani victim without provocation, police say
Police and CrimeStoppers are asking for the public’s help in finding a 24-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of a 51-year-old man who died last week – a week after being assaulted in a Mililani store.
Police identified the suspect as Shane Dilwith, who is known to frequent the Mililani area.
Police said Dilwith assaulted the victim without provocation at Jungle Juice Market, 95-020 Waihau St., at about 7:35 p.m. on Dec. 8. The man was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he died Friday.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office identified him as Thomas Morikawa, Jr., of Mililani. He died of head injuries, the office said.
Police opened a second-degree murder investigation.
Dilwith is 5 feet 8 inches with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes.
