Shark warning signs were posted Saturday afternoon at a Poipu beach after a 3-foot reef shark was seen in the area, the Kauai Fire Department said.
Lifeguards reported the shark was seen near the shoreline at Brennecke’s Beach on the eastern end of Poipu Beach Park at about 2:30 p.m. Lifeguards posted warning signs and were advising beachgoers to stay out of the water until further notice.
Lifeguards will determine whether to reopen the beach this morning.
