A 67-year-old man has died after he was found unresponsive offshore of Ala Moana Regional Park.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office, which identified him as Hans T. Sasaki of Kaneohe, said the cause and manner of death are pending.
Sometime before 6:40 a.m. Monday, surfers found an unresponsive man later identified as Sasaki in the ocean and pulled him to shore, according to Emergency Medical Services.
Paramedics took Sasaki to a hospital in critical condition, where he died.
