CrimeStoppers and police are asking for the public’s help in locating two masked males involved in a gunpoint robbery of a Kapolei High School student.
The incident happened at about 5:45 p.m. Monday as the student was walking home on Kapolei Parkway, police said.
A black, older-model Toyota Camry turned onto Puainako Street, and the front-seat passenger exited the vehicle and grabbed the victim, then pointed a handgun at him while demanding his property, police said.
The victim refused, and the suspect allegedly began searching him. The suspect ran back to the vehicle and fled the scene when a witness in another vehicle stopped to check on the victim.
Wesley Shinkawa, Kapolei High School principal, sent home a letter Tuesday informing parents and guardians of the “stranger danger” incident.
The letter said the two adult male suspects wore ski masks and that the passenger was 6 feet 4 inches tall and 250 pounds. The student was unharmed and reported the incident to police.
Anyone with information is asked to notify CrimeStoppers by calling 955-8300 or dialing *CRIME from a cellphone.
