SHOPO is awarded 2% to 2.25% annual pay raises over 4 years

The union representing the state’s police officers today announced an arbitration award that will give its members annual pay raises over the next four years.
The State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers (SHOPO) contract offers a 2 percent raise retroactive to July 1, followed by a 2.25 percent increase next year, then 2 percent raises each year for the following two years.
With a firearm allowance increase and bonuses, the contract will result in a cumulative increase from 14 percent to 17 percent, the union announced.
SHOPO President Tenari Ma‘afala called the lengthy contract negotiations fruitful and said the arbitration outcome was fair.
