Doctor of clinic that offers testosterone therapy reprimanded by state
Dr. Charles Arakaki of the Universal Men’s Clinic, a well-advertised Honolulu clinic offering testosterone therapy, was reprimanded by the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs last month.
Dr. Arakaki allegedly submitted a renewal application to the Hawaii Medical Board failing to include information about disciplinary action pending before the Texas and Arizona medical boards based on disciplinary action taken by the Oregon Medical Board, according to the DCCA.
Dr. Arakaki was not available for comment at his office Monday.
A graduate of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, Arakaki was issued a physician’s license by the Hawaii Medical Board in May 2008
According to the state DCCA, the state of Oregon in 2016 disciplined Arakaki for using his name in advertisements that stated or implied he was practicing medicine there at a time when he was not licensed to practice in the state. No allegations of patient harm were recorded in Oregon, Arizona or Texas.
The DCCA reprimanded Dr, Arakaki and fined him $2,500.
