Kauai Island Utility Cooperative has issued a request for qualifications — called an RFQ — from companies that can provide services and equipment for the Pu‘u ‘Opae Energy Project. The RFQ is intended to draw responses from as many interested parties as possible for engineering, equipment supply and construction services.
The renewable energy project incorporates photovoltaic and pumped storage hydro technology and could provide up to 15 percent of the island’s energy needs.
A copy of the RFQ package can be obtained from the KIUC website through bit.ly/2hFSGcu or by contacting Dawn Huff at dhuff@joulegroup.com. Deadline for responses is Nov. 30.
