Hawaii soccer players Sonest Furtado and Raisa Strom-Okimoto were named to the 14-player All-Big West first team, the conference announced Wednesday.
No players were named to the second team for last-place UH (6-10-1, 1-6-1 Big West). Leialoha Medeiros was named to the BWC all-freshman team.
It marked the second straight season UH placed two players on the first team.
Furtado, a forward out of Waianae High, led the Rainbow Wahine with seven goals and four assists.
The senior scored twice against UC Santa Barbara to give her team its only Big West win of the season. Furtado finished 10th on the UH career lists in goals (14) and points (35).
Strom-Okimoto, an Aiea alumna, became the first Wahine player to be named to two BWC first teams.
It was the junior attacking midfielder’s second straight year receiving the honor. She had three goals and two assists for the year as the team’s offensive focal point.
Medeiros, a freshman midfielder/forward out of Kamehameha-Maui, scored a goal against UC Irvine and started the last six games of conference play.
UH did not qualify for the four-team conference tournament.
