Honolulu police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a shoplifting suspect who used pepper spray on a security guard at Pearlridge Center last month.
Police said the male was stopped by Macy’s security after he entered the department store and selected items about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 26.
The male went outside the store and pepper-sprayed the officer before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
Man kidnapped and robbed at Kewalo Basin
Police are investigating an alleged kidnapping and robbery of a man at Kewalo Basin in Honolulu.
Between 3:40 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, three suspects impersonated law enforcement officers and kidnapped the victim, according to police. They drove the man around in a vehicle, assaulted him and demanded money, police said.
The suspects returned to Kewalo Basin, where they dropped off the victim. The victim sustained several contusions to his body, police said.
Two of the suspects were described only as male. No description was available for the third suspect.
Police said the relationship between the suspects and victim is unknown.
Suspect in ski mask robs 3 in Kalihi home
A male suspect wearing a ski mask and brandishing an unspecified dangerous instrument broke into a Kalihi home and robbed three people early Wednesday, police said.
At about 12:50 a.m., he entered the home and demanded money from three victims — two men, ages 40 and 46, and a 27-year-old woman — then fled.
Police said no arrests have been made; they are searching for the suspect.
