Police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of murder Thursday relating to a fight outside a Waikiki bar.
The 36-year-old victim died at the hospital Tuesday.
Police arrested the suspect in Kaimuki in connection with the death of the victim, who has been identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as Dishaun L. Walton of Buffalo, N.Y.
Walton died of blunt force injury to the head. The manner of death has been classified as a homicide.
Police said the suspect and Walton got into an altercation Sept. 20 in Waikiki, where Walton sustained an injury to his head. He was transported to the hospital, where his condition deteriorated.
Man accused of shoplifting in high-end store
Police arrested a 25-year-old man after he allegedly shoplifted merchandise from a luxury retail store at the International Market Place in Waikiki.
At about 2:15 p.m. Thursday, police said, the suspect concealed merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue. Store security stopped him as he was leaving the establishment.
Police said he used force in an attempt to flee with the stolen merchandise.
Help wanted for ID in lawn mower theft
Hawaii island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say stole a lawn mower from a store in Keaau.
The theft happened Sept. 8.
Police ask anyone with information on the individual to call Officer Bryson Pilor at the Pahoa station at 965-2716 or the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.
