Hawaii County police arrested a 32-year-old Puna man early Thursday morning for allegedly stabbing a 34-year-old male roommate.
Police said the victim had stab wounds to the neck and was taken by ambulance to Hilo Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
He was medevaced to The Queen’s Medical Center for additional treatment.
Police arrived at a Hawaiian Paradise Park home at 12:26 a.m. Thursday and arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Threat against neighbor leads to arrest
Police arrested a 58-year-old man after he allegedly threatened his 60-year-old neighbor with a knife in Kalaeloa.
Police said the threat occured at about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, and that the suspect assaulted the neighbor, making a superficial cut to his left cheek.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree assault.
Woman reports sexual assault by stranger
A 26-year-old woman told police Wednesday that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man at 9 p.m. Sunday in Ewa Beach.
Police have opened a first-degree sexual assault case.
