No tsunami expected after 6.6 magnitude quake off Alaska
No tsunami is expected after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Rat Islands in the Aleutian Islands in southwest Alaska, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
The quake occurred about 12:34 p.m. Hawaii time and was about 107 miles northwest of Amchitka, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
It had a preliminary depth of about 70 miles, the Geological Survey said.
