Suspect identified in Chinatown shooting

The Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 22-year-old man in connection with the Sept. 20 shooting death of a 34-year-old man.

Tiseya Puapuaga is wanted on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to CrimeStoppers. Police said Puapuaga shot Isaac Mamea multiple times with a handgun as Mamea sat outside Maunakea Liquor & Grocery in Chinatown around 11:45 p.m.

Police recovered the white Toyota Matrix that Puapuaga allegedly used to flee the scene.

Puapuaga is described as Samoan, 6-foot-1 and 350 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Chinatown, Aala Park, and Keeaumoku areas. He also has ties to Northern California and previously lived in Sacramento.
