University of Hawaii men’s and women’s basketball 2017-18 season tickets go on sale Monday.
The UH men, led by third-year coach Eran Ganot, return four starters and play a 20-game home schedule starting Nov. 10 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Lower-level selections at the Stan Sheriff Center run between $435 and $465, while upper-level adult tickets are $200-225. Upper tickets are $175-190 for senior citizens (65-over) and $89-99 for youths (age 4 through high school).
Laura Beeman’s Rainbow Wahine play a 16-game home schedule, with the first at the Sheriff against Northern Arizona on Nov. 17. The UH women return all five starters, led by senior Sarah Toeaina. General admission season tickets are $70 for adults, $60 for senior citizens and $30 for youths.

Sharks fall to Cal Baptist on road
The Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team fell short in a 4-3 loss to No. 11 California Baptist on Saturday in Riverside, Calif. The Sharks overcame a 3-1 deficit in the first half before Preston Judd’s header found the back of the net in the 77th minute for his second goal of the game. CBU’s Junior Guerra was credited with the assist off the corner kick.
The Lancers (6-0-1, 2-0 PacWest) took an early lead after Hugo Gutierrez and Aidan Apodaca scored two goals within 21 seconds in the 10th minute. HPU freshman Lucas Libbra responded with his third goal of the year in the 21st minute. Yuki Yamamoto and Gerrit Arzberger also recorded first-half goals for the Sharks (2-3-1, 0-2 PacWest). HPU goalkeeper Daniel Arnoll finished with five saves.

UHH (0-5, 0-2 PacWest) recorded more shots on goal than the host Eagles, 6-5. Freshman forward Bryan Reynoso led the Vulcans’ offense with three shots, two on goal.
>> Chaminade and Azusa Pacific battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Saturday in Azusa, Calif. Tyler Braunthal scored in the 15th minute for the Silverswords (1-2-1, 0-1-1 PacWest) from 30 feet out. It marks his first goal since October 2015.
Kaleb Armbrust tied it up in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick for the Cougars (0-5-1, 0-1-1 PacWest).
Vulcans tripped up by Concordia Irvine
Concordia Irvine’s Keely Abt scored in the 70th minute to lift the Eagles to a 1-0 victory over the Hawaii Hilo women’s soccer squad on Saturday in Irvine, Calif.
The Eagles (3-2-1, 2-0 PacWest) finished with 16 shots, and seven shots on goal. Senior goalie Jenna Hufford led the Vulcans (3-3, 0-3 PacWest) with six saves.
>>California Baptist edged Hawaii Pacific 1-0 in PacWest Conference action on Saturday in Riverside, Calif. In the ninth minute, Haley Wheelon volleyed the ball over the head of HPU goalkeeper Lauren Spencer from 3 yards out for the lone goal.
Spencer finished with eight saves for the Sharks (4-3, 0-2 PacWest). The Lancers improve to 4-3 overall, 2-0 in the PacWest.
>> Chaminade ended its first road trip of the year with a 4-0 loss to Azusa Pacific on Saturday in Azusa, Calif.
Caitlin Tatemichi led the Silverswords (1-4, 0-2 PacWest) with three shots, while goalkeeper Brandee Lane made eight saves. Stephanie Lossau, Katelyn Rogers and Kellie Yoshihara each scored for the Cougars (2-3, 2-0 PacWest), and CU recorded an own goal as a defender’s attempt to clear the ball went into the net.
Silverswords defeat Dixie State in 4 sets
The Chaminade women’s volleyball team is off to its best conference start in 21 years with a 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 25-15 victory over Dixie State on Saturday at McCabe Gym.
CU’s Kira Long led the Silverswords with 14 kills, while Emma Tecklenburg and Claire Zanon posted double-doubles. Tecklenburg finished with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Zanon had 10 kills and a team-high 15 digs. Setter Danielle Wiley also posted 40 assists with 10 digs.
Hannah Doonan led the Trailblazers (3-8, 1-2 PacWest) with 11 kills and seven digs.
The Silverswords improve to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in the PacWest Conference. They’re currently tied with No. 8 Cal Baptist and Azusa Pacific.
>> Hawaii Pacific edged Academy of Art 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 25-19 in a PacWest women’s volleyball match on Saturday at St. Andrew’s Priory. The Sharks (5-7, 3-1 PacWest) served up 12 aces, but the Urban Knights led the match in kills, blocks, and digs. AAU also racked up the most service errors with 13, compared to HPU’s three.
Freshman Cameryn Collie recorded a team-high 10 kills and nine digs for the Sharks. Bailey Soolsma finished with a match-high 17 kills and 13 digs for the Urban Knights (2-8, 0-4 PacWest).
>> Hawaii Hilo’s Siera Green registered 15 kills and eight digs in a 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21 loss to Fresno Pacific on Saturday in Hilo.
Juniors Lucee Fitzgerald and Randi Hunter added 10 kills each for the Vulcans, who fall to 4-6 overall, 1-3 in PacWest play. Mina Grant finished with 22 digs in the loss.
Caroline Bodziak posted a match-high 16 kills for the Sunbirds (3-9, 2-2 PacWest).
Vulcans finish eighth at Coyote Challenge
Anna Baker-Mikkelsen and Meghan Langbehn led the Hawaii Hilo cross country team at the Coyote Challenge on Saturday in San Bernardino, Calif.
Baker-Mikkelsen ran a season-best 19:33 and finished 43rd overall, while Langbehn posted a career-best 19:49. Claremont-Mudd Scripps took the team title with five runners in the top 15, while the Vulcans finished eighth in the 10-team field.
Roodzant leads UHH golfers at invitational
Junior Hawaii Hilo golfer Ryan Roodzant finished tied for seventh at the Saint Martin’s Men’s Invitational on Saturday in Olympia, Wash. Roodzant posted a two-over 215 after three rounds at Olympia Country & Golf Club. UHH’s Jared Kinoshita tied for 18th at 218 strokes.
The Vulcans shared the ninth spot with Concordia (Ore.), while Western Washington clinched the team title. A total of 13 teams competed in the tournament.
