A veteran FBI special agent has been named as the new chief of public safety for the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Andrew “Andy” Black brings more than 30 years of public service experience, including 27 years as a federal agent and four as a state prosecutor. He held supervisory positions within the FBI for 14 years, overseeing hundreds of employees and managing multimillion-dollar programs.
He joined the FBI after serving as an assistant state’s attorney in Chicago. His posts have included supervisory special agent in Washington, D.C., chief of the border corruption/crimes task force in San Diego, and assistant special agent in charge in Tucson, Ariz.
