Former MMA fighter Inoue returns from Japan to sell jewelry

As a mixed martial artist, Hawaii-born Enson Inoue earned a reputation for his samurai-style fighting spirit, notching wins against MMA legend Randy Couture along with victories in the UFC and at home in the defunct SuperBrawl promotion.
Ever since his retirement from fighting in 2011, however, Inoue has transformed into a successful jewelry designer. The former Manoa resident now lives in Japan, producing bespoke bracelets and necklaces under his Destiny Forever brand. He uses various materials such as black onyx and smoky quartz believed to promote wellness and spiritual values. He compares his products to Japanese “omamori,” or good-luck charms.
These days Inoue, 50, returns to Hawaii twice a year to sell his jewelry to local fans; find his pop-up booth on the second floor at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel, 2500 Kuhio Ave., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Oct. 1. Validated valet parking is available for $3.
