Hawaiian Airlines will waive reservation change fees for customers affected by Hurricane Jose who are traveling to, from or through New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport or Boston’s Logan Airport. The policy applies to flights Tuesday and today under the following conditions:
>> The ticket was issued on or before Tuesday.
>> The affected flights were originally scheduled for travel on or before Tuesday through today.
>> The new flights are booked and ticketed on or before Saturday.
Any resulting difference in fares will be waived provided the change is made to the same class of service and there is no change in departing airport or destination.

Firm buys Kapolei warehouse for $7.1M
A freight movement company has acquired a warehouse built 40 years ago in Kapolei for Kraft Foods.
The commercial real estate brokerage firm CBRE announced the $7.1 million sale of the 26,153-square-foot warehouse on 2.3 acres of land to American Fast Freight.
The warehouse at 91-290 Kauhi St. in Campbell Industrial Park was built in 1976 for Kraft Foods, now known as Kraft Heinz. The company closed the facility after an extensive review of its North American distribution network following Kraft’s 2015 merger with H.J. Heinz Co., according to a statement CBRE provided from Michael Mullen, Kraft Heinz senior vice president of corporate and government affairs.
CBRE represented Kraft Heinz in the sale.
Mullen said Kraft Heinz will continue to service its customers through the company’s California operations.
EPA awards $100,000 contract to Oceanit
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded $100,000 to Honolulu-based Oceanit Laboratories Inc. to develop a nontoxic coating for use in water pipeline repair. The company is one of 15 small businesses nationwide receiving a total of $1.6 million to develop technologies that will help protect human health and the environment.

Hawaii resident Ernest James Harris has been named to the Agricultural Research Service Science Hall of Fame for his innovative and scientific contributions to the United States and the world. Harris is an international leader in developing methods for controlling tephritid fruit flies, which threaten crops around the world.
