Shark sighting signs were posted at Waimea Bay Beach Park on Wednesday warning beachgoers to stay out of the water. The signs remained up today.

Warning signs remained posted at Waimea Bay on Oahu’s North Shore due to shark sightings today.

Ocean Safety Spokeswoman Shayne Enright said there were at least three sharks spotted this morning.

It’s unclear, however, whether they were different sharks or one shark.

Enright said lifeguards believe it’s a single 5 to 6 foot-long shark swimming around the bay, about 100 yards offshore.

In the past week, warning signs have been posted and lifeguards have been warning beachgoers to stay out of the water at Waimea because of frequent shark sightings.

Lifeguards reported three shark sightings Thursday.

On Monday, multiple sharks were observed thrashing in waters roughly five yards offshore.
