Police arrested three men and are looking for two others in connection with an assault in Hilo.

Hawaii island police arrested three men and are looking for two others in connection with an assault on a 26-year-old Hilo man in Hilo on Thursday.
According to police, the victim was sitting in his truck in front of a Punawai Street residence around 7:18 p.m. when he was punched and kicked by several men. The man told police that he was also struck with a wrench. The suspects fled in a van.
The man was transported to Hilo Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries to his head and torso.
Police arrested three of the suspects at a Waianuenue apartment complex. Police are still looking for two others for questioning.

Man charged in drug raid
A 51-year-old man has been charged with drug-related offenses after police conducted a drug raid at a Hilo apartment building.
Jack Larinaga was charged with promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree, three counts of promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, possessing drug paraphernalia and promoting a detrimental drug in the third degree.
His bail has been set at $80,525.
Detectives executed a search warrant Thursday at the residential building on Banyan Drive following an investigation of distribution of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” in the area.
Officers discovered small amounts of cocaine and prescription drugs, nearly 40 grams of ice and close to 39 grams of marijuana. Police said the street value is estimated at more than $7,500.
Police also seized drug paraphernalia and almost $2,400 in cash.
