The Pearl City KRU made quick work of St. John, Ind., on Friday, winning 10-0 in four innings to earn a trip to the championship game of the Cal Ripken 10U World Series in Hammond, Ind.
Seven of nine starters had hits for KRU, led by Jayden Montero, who scored two runs and had two RBIs.
KRU will face the winner of West Raleigh, N.C., and Hammond, Ind., in today’s championship game.

>> Hilo was eliminated from the West Regional of the Little League Majors (ages 11-12), falling 12-6 to Utah in San Bernardino, Calif. Hilo held a 6-0 lead after the second inning, but relinquished four runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
