The Likelike Highway will close overnight heading townbound next week, and then Kaneohe-bound the following week, so that work crews can install LED lights inthe Wilson Tunnel, according to state transportation officials.

The highway will close townbound between Kahekili Highway and Valley View Drive 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Friday and then next Sunday during the same hours, according the state Department of Transportation.

The following week, it will close Kaneohe-bound between Valley View Drive and Kahekili Highway 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 14 though Aug. 18, and then Aug. 20 during the same hours, according to the department.

The state agency encourages drivers to use alternate routes such as the Pali Highway and H-3 freeway.
