Hawaii’s Thunder Baseball team rocked the hometown squad in an 18-0 five-inning blowout in the first round of the Babe Ruth 14U Pacific Southwest Regional on Tuesday in Surprise, Ariz. Nine teams are competing in the double-elimination tournament.
Brayden Hiraki earned the win on the mound with three strikeouts over three innings. Jaron Yoshikane, Tate Shimao and Kody Watanabe recorded three hits each for the Thunder, while Michael Yamaguchi finished with five RBIs.
Thunder Baseball will face Orcutt, Calif., today.
