Cedar Street Galleries is hosting an exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of Hawai‘i Craftsmen, whose members work in clay, metal, fiber, wood and mixed media.
Among the pieces on display are whimsical ceramic animal figurines by Daven Hee; an abstract, lychee wood bowl by Francisco Clemente; and colorful hanging glass sculptures by Lizabeth Train. The eyes on Jo Rowley’s seated, ceramic “Monkey King” gleam in an upward gaze, as if ready to hop to its feet and speak.
The exhibit runs through Aug. 20 at the gallery, 817 Cedar St.; hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Call 589-1580 or visit cedarstreetgalleries.com.
